Community Building: Be Relevant

Great post from Community Spark about being relevant to your community.  The application of the tips provided goes far beyond just for businesses who have actually built an online community — it reaches the need to be relevant in any community  you participate in.  Relevance is key to developing influence.  Influence is key to having impact on your target audience.

Some tips they included, that I think we all need to apply in your community activities:

  • Match their style,
  • Share stories,

Each of these are great tips for engaging with any of your target audience on any community-type platform you’re using to engage them.  Great stuff.

Especially the part about sharing stories. Personally I’m a sucker for stories and case studies and I guess that is why sales pages with testimonials work their magic on me :)

Thank you for the tips. I’ve seen some people who are eager to build and promote their business but they forget to build the community first. I think we need to choose the right community that related to our business or our website, and then we can share some stories and get a new friends
